It started with The Panda Conspiracy.

Katie, Liana, & Chris first played together in The Panda Conspiracy back in the mid-aughts. They’ve been playing together ever since in various configurations, but as a horn section, they are unparalleled. Having worked together for so long, they are excellent collaborators, able to make up harmonized riffs on the spot and play off the energy of the band and the crowd. They are well versed in a variety of genres: comfortable in high-energy funk, hip-hop, & rock situations, but equally capable in roots, soul, & folk.

As a horn section, they have worked with the likes of Flowmotion, Grace Love, Project Lionheart, and of course their own projects: The Panda Conspiracy, The Chris Poage Band, and Mts. & Tunnels.

Meet The PandaCon Horns

Katie Green, Trumpet

Katie started playing her uncle’s hand-me-down trumpet in 5th grade in Bothell, WA. In her day job, she’s the Director of Global Quality Control Testing for cancer therapeutics — where she closely abides by regulations from agencies worldwide. Music has always been her outlet to stay balanced and in the zone – a chance to exercise the other side of her brain!

Katie has played public and private gigs with artists such as Melissa Etheridge, Three Horn Quartet, and The Together Collective.

Liana Green, Trombone

Liana is a mixed-Black, queer musician and educator who has forged her own path through the music world. Hailing from Edmonds, WA, she has lived, studied, and played music on both coasts. A multi-instrumentalist who is comfortable in a variety of genres, she can most often be found holding down bass lines in The Panda Conspiracy and Three Horn Quartet, adding a trombone voice into the mix with The Together Collective, or playing banjo on her porch.

Chris Poage, Bari Sax

Chris is a singer/songwriter & multi-instrumentalist who writes original music ranging from rootsy americana to world music to psychedelic rock. He grew up with a creative family on his great-grandma’s homestead in the once small town of Bothell, WA. Chris knows the power of art firsthand and has a deep love and respect for the stage.

He has fronted bands like The Panda Conspiracy and Mts. & Tunnels, but he also works with artists ranging from Femi Kuti to Melissa Etheridge.
